Test run

Posted on Updated on

I’ve just spent two days out on the route to test run the entire course and to get an altitude profile.  The change in the area since I was out here three weeks ago is remarkable. More butterflies, the reeds in the wetlands are turning green, many birds and there’s an overall feeling of newness and growth.

The route is more challenging than I expected, especially the first ‘half’, which I’ve always thought of as the ‘flat’ side. In fact, it isn’t as flat in reality as it was in my mind. The ‘hillier’ second half may have more climb overall but you don’t feel is as much because you go up and stay up and there are some really lovely downhills that are at a most perfect gradient for a flowing run.

I’m busy working up the altitude profile and I’ll post it when done.
